Are the memberships and data between Android and iOS intercompatible?
Currently, they are not intercompatible because:
- The data acquisition methods and functions available on Android and iOS are different
- We do not store users’ health data in the cloud; the current data is directly read from various sports health apps, so health data migration is not supported.
- It may be supported in the future
Some data on iOS phones do not display
Reason 1: The wearable device may not support the data
- If you are an Apple Watch user: Different models of Apple Watch can collect different data. For example, the Apple Watch SE cannot record blood oxygen and wrist temperature, which may cause some data in the app to be empty.
- If you are a user of other wearable devices: OtterLife can only read data stored in Apple Health. If the sports health app associated with your device does not support measuring or writing certain data, some data in the app (such as HRV) may be empty.
Reason 2: Wearable device data not updated
OtterLife relies on health data uploaded from sports wearable devices like Apple Watch. If you do not wear the watch or band during exercise or sleep, we will not be able to obtain your health data.
- HRV data: When you are wearing the Apple Watch normally, HRV data will be automatically updated every 2-5 hours. There may be delays in data updating and pushing due to Apple’s system reasons.
- You can also open the “Mindfulness” app on the watch, select the “Breathing” function, and complete one session to update to the latest data.
- Other data: Due to the limitations of the Apple Watch itself, there will be a certain interval for each data synchronization. If the data does not update immediately, you can try again later.
- If you are using other wearable devices, it may be due to lack of timely data synchronization. You can open the corresponding sports health app for synchronization.
Reason 3: Apple Health data permissions not authorized
- If you are using other health apps to track body data but OtterLife does not have data, it is most likely because data is not shared with Apple Health.
- OtterLife relies on Apple Health authorization to ensure the accuracy and timely update of data and to provide you with statistics and notifications. Not turning on all the authorizations will affect your experience of the full functionality of the product.
Refer to the tutorial below to open all permissions by going to iOS Settings – Privacy & Security – Health – OtterLife and clicking “Open All,” ensuring OtterLife can function properly.
Android + Huawei device data synchronization issues
- OtterLife pulls data from Huawei Cloud, and the lack of cloud synchronization on your Huawei device may cause this issue, which is different from the data acquisition method of Huawei Sports Health. You’ll have to wait patiently to see if the data can recover on its own.
- Confirm whether the Huawei Sports Health and OtterLife accounts logged in are the same.

HRV
What is HRV?
HRV, also known as heart rate variability ❤️, records the small differences in your heart rate between each beat. HRV can reflect your body’s ability to cope with stress ⚡, fatigue 😴, or illness 🤒.
Is HRV scientific?
The human body primarily reflects stress through the autonomic nervous system. Under stress, the sympathetic nervous system becomes more active, speeding up the heartbeat, reducing the interval between beats, and therefore decreasing HRV 📉; in relaxation or recovery states, the parasympathetic nervous system becomes more active, slowing down the heartbeat, lengthening the intervals, and thus increasing HRV 📈.
What HRV values are better?
Each person’s HRV reading is unique and influenced by many factors such as age 👩🏼👩🏼🦳, gender 👩🏼👱🏻♂️, etc. Therefore, stable HRV data over time is more accurate in reflecting individual health status 😇 than a single high or low HRV reading. So there’s no need to feel anxious about occasional low HRV 😌!
Understanding HRV more intuitively!
Stable HRV data 📊 can more accurately reflect individual health status. Therefore, we calculate your average HRV over the past 30 days and tell you the state of your body: When HRV is much higher than average: Good things are happening When HRV is within the normal range: Full of vitality When HRV is much lower than average: High stress
Why is the HRV data measured different from that in Apple Health?
Because Apple Health uses the SDNN algorithm, while we use the rMSSD algorithm. In simple terms, SDNN assesses long-term heart rate variability, while rMSSD focuses more on short-term heart rate variability, making it more suitable for observing daily HRV changes.
How often is data updated?
When you wear the Apple Watch normally, HRV data is automatically updated every 2-5 hours. There may be delays in data updating and pushing due to Apple’s system reasons, thank you for your understanding. You can also open the “Mindfulness” app on the watch, select the “Breathing” function, and complete one session to update to the latest data.
Why can’t it update in real time?
HRV data updates primarily rely on updates from Apple Health for heart rate variability, which updates randomly every 2-5 hours on the Apple Watch. (If the fibrillation function is enabled, the refresh rate will be higher). Heart rate variability (Figure 1) depends on beat-to-beat measurements (Figure 2) taken within one minute by the heart; any calculations derived from other methods are meaningless and valueless. Therefore, updating is currently not supported on the Apple Watch.
Sleep
Why is there no recorded sleep data on Apple Watch?
- Open sleep tracking.
First, ensure that sleep monitoring is enabled on the Apple Watch and wear the watch while sleeping for more than 7 days so that the Apple Watch can learn your sleep habits to generate more accurate sleep data. If you want more accurate sleep tracking, set sleep timings and sleep goals. Additionally, if each sleep duration is less than 4 hours, sleep data cannot be generated.
- Set sleep timings.
On the phone, open the “Watch” App, select “Sleep” – “Manage sleep focus mode in settings” – set “Sleep Timings.” If sleep mode is not turned off after waking up, sleep will be recorded until the sleep mode’s end time.
Why can’t the phone record sleep?
After the iOS 18 update, it is no longer possible to record sleep duration through the phone.
Does it support reading sleep recorded by other apps?
Go to the sleep detail page, choose settings in the upper right corner, and switch the data source. Selecting “Smart Selection” will limit the data source list to those with sleep stage data (Apple Watch takes priority).
Is sleep duration incorrect?
Please check if you have modified the sleep statistical cutoff time; the app will use this time to separate sleep statistics. It is recommended to set the latest end time for naps and short sleeps to any time within the earliest start time for nighttime sleep.
How to track naps
After updating to watchOS 11, if you have enabled the sleep feature and wear the Apple Watch, it will automatically track naps without additional actions. Naps of less than 30 minutes are unlikely to be detected by the watch. For naps longer than 30 minutes, the watch may record your nap, but the recorded data will not include sleep stages (such as deep or light sleep). The longer you sleep, the higher the likelihood of being recorded, with sleep stage information only documented for sleeps longer than 2 hours.
Menstruation
How to view wrist temperature data
- Supported only on Apple Watch Series 8, 9, 10, Ultra, Ultra 2 models.
- Open “Track Sleep Through Apple Watch” to set “Sleep.”
- To establish a temperature baseline, ensure sleep focus mode is enabled and wear the Apple Watch during sleep.
- You must track sleep for at least four hours each night to collect wrist temperature data from the Apple Watch. Wrist temperature data will typically be available after about five nights.
[Note] Your body temperature naturally fluctuates and can vary each night due to various factors. Wrist temperature may also be affected by external factors such as the sleep environment.
Exercise and activity tracking related
- If there are no recent exercise records, the fitness module in the navigation bar is hidden.
- iOS only supports exercise recorded from Apple Watch, does not support exercise records from other devices.
- Huawei only supports exercise recorded from Huawei watches/bands, does not support exercise records from phone classes.
- Xiaomi and phone sources do not support exercise records.
Will weight trends, sun exposure time, and other data be added later?
There are development plans.

Official refund process
You can initiate a refund request through Apple’s official refund link: https://support.apple.com/zh-cn/HT204084
My refund request was denied?
First, you should note that all refund requests for App Store apps are handled uniformly by Apple; developers cannot control the refund process. Developers only receive notification when Apple successfully processes a refund. Generally, refund requests are usually approved, but approval primarily depends on Apple. Since your payment is held by Apple and periodically transferred to developers, not directly to developers, if Apple customer service advises you to contact developers for negotiation, in fact, developers have no way to process refunds. Furthermore, accounts that frequently request refunds may be flagged by Apple’s risk management system. In this case, we may not be able to provide a refund, due to Apple’s policy. We understand your concerns. If you have further questions, please add our customer service: jikeqa
